i am 29 and just had my second child in as many years. this one was delivered c-section and it has posed a problem in getting back into shape. in BC (before children) i was 110lbs (i am only 5'1") i was very fit, tone and cute! now i am soooooo gross. i have about 30 pounds to loose. i am breast feeding , i joined a gym that i go to 3x a week AND i ride horses/give instruction the other 3 days a week i am not at the gym AND i go for a long walk on sundays.
i need to know how many calories i should shoot for to maintain my breast feeding but burn off the butt!!! i can't tell you how much this is messing with me. i feel skinny inside, but when i see myself in the mirror or a picture i want to crawl in a hole! i also have been really watching what i eat-- the whole 6 small meals thing, but i crave the bad stuff so bad, it makes me snack on healthy stuff, but still, i never snacked so much!!! argggggg!!!

I wouldn't worry about losing weight right now until you're done breastfeeding. All it does is just add more stress, plus you and the baby need the nutrition right now.
The best thing to do is just eat as healthy as you can, but EAT. Don't try and diet right now. Keep the health of your little one in mind first and worry about losing the weight later :)

Breastfeeding will help you lose weight. If you want to do something good for you and your baby, you can give up sugary foods. When I had my baby, I did this and after 3 mos. I weighed less than before I got pregnant. Also, eat whole grains, fresh veggies, fish. Wholesome foods will ensure that you and your baby get good nurition. Instead of juice, eat the whole fruit.
