Hi everyone:
I have been taking prozac for 2 month and it helped my depression but I started having like panic attacks (could not breath ok lots of anxiety) and sexual side effects too. My doc told me to take 10mg only instead of the 20 a day he prescribed. I have an app on the 22 and I want to solve those side effects but im terribly afraid that he would choose a med for me that will make me gain weight, i was 210 pounds and I managed to get down to 125, i cannot risk it for anything in the world. from what meds should I stay away from, what is the best solution for this side effects? please tell me your experience.

thank you for your input

All of the SSRI's (which are the most commonly used therapies for depression) can cause weight gain. Although, many medical professionals claim that these medication do not cause weight gain per se, but rather, the patient doesn't eat properly and exercise regularly. Patients will tell you differently, though.

You just need to express these concerns to your doctor, and together, make a decision. If you find you're having problems on another pill, you can always switch again. Just realize that you may not be able to find a pill that is side-effect free.
