View Full Version : Healthy shampoo?

I recently read something on Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (also Laureth), which is in most shampoos, toothpastes, and deodorants, etc. Apparently it's really toxic & full of nitrates, like eating a pile of bacon every day. And it gets under your scalp and into your bloodstream.

My question: Does anybody know of a good lauryl-free shampoo that gets your hair REALLY CLEAN? All the stuff I've tried, even the good brands, leave a residue-y feeling. I like a good squeaky clean - I like Suave Daily Clarifying, but it's full of SLS, like most supermarket brands.

I try my best to use all natural, not tested on animals products. The shampoo and conditioner that i currently use is by Avalon Organics. It works great and has a wonderful fragrance. I have also used Loma products and Aveda. Recommend all 3!

Kerry, that story about Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is an urban legend proven to be FALSE. You can look it up on the web.

That is true...it is a myth. But that's good that you are looking out for the bad things in what you're buying. There are lots of things to be concerned about but SLS is not one of them. It has not been proven to be a carcinogen whereas many other ingredients have been. If you're looking for a place to get safer, healthier products try shopping on line with our store.
