I have to take 2-3 months off from the gym and any type of exersisng!!! I've been off for 1 month now. I feel like my body has COMPLETELY changed, for the worse. Can this really happen? This was my routine......for the past year i had a trainer 1 day a week------went to the gym 6-7 days a week. I did some sort of exersise daily! For the most part, i eat pretty healthy! After this time off.....am i gonna lose everything i tried so hard to gain? I am so upset!!! I had built alot of muscle, so i really dont mind if i lose a little of that-----it's this weight gain, that i think i have put on! Im also so out of my routine that it's fightning! Im really not easting any different, but of course im not exersisng! So, if i get out of shape during this time, do you think i will get it back failrly quick---when i do start exersisng agin? Please someone help?????????????????? :)

The biggest thing you can do to help is be VERY dilligent about your diet. You need to make allowances for the fact that you are not active or weight gain is very easy. Regaining the muscle and tone won't be too hard thanks to muscle memory, but if you really let the fat creep up on you, you'll have a serious struggle. But you can stop it here. Drop calories and eat clean and then when you can get back to exercising you can resume your normal routine.

When I stopped running Cross Country (about 5-9 miles a day 5-6 days a week) I noticed ALOT of changes very quickly. My legs started jiggling!!!!! :( My tight butt, well to put it nicely...spread. A year later I still can't run as much as I used to. I try but it's just so hard. I definately wish I wouldn't have quit. Start exercising again and soon if you don't want the changes to stay the same. I also noticed that I had to really watch what I ate. I used to be able to eat ANYTHING when I was running so much and not gain an ounce. Now if I eat a cookie my butt jiggles half an hour later! :) haha...maybe not that bad, but you catch my drift

I had surgery on May 13----and im not healing!!! The worst news i could of heard! I cannot exersise til the incision closes! I am just now starting to heal! Im assuming all toll, i will be out of the gym---and no exersise, for a total of 2 to 2 1/2 months! I know i have put on weight, cuz i quit smoking too! It is soooo hard for me to lose weight...now that im 33, compared to when i was in my 20's i could lose major amounts of weight! Im soooo frusterated! I know this is temporary............but in the meantime----im GOING INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh god, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't work out!! Did your doctor say you could at least brisk walk or stretch/yoga? Any type of simple exercises? NOthing?? Well, I think I'd go insane too. My daughter and I decided to take a week off the gym once and said we'd never do that again....by day two we were freaking out! And we only go 4-5 times a week but we still felt the difference. The next week we felt like kissing the gym's floor!
