It is certainly understandable, and perhaps it will help you to concentrate on making her feel better (I think I am less anxious when I think about someone other than myself). In any case, we will all be thinking of you. Let us know how it goes whenever you are able. james_wv 06-16-2005, 12:35 PM God bless you Ed and may He comfort your wife. May He guide your surgical team as they do your surgery and I pray that He be with you through your recovery. I'll keep you in my prayers. Specialdee 06-16-2005, 01:03 PM Edmason - June 16, 2003 - A Day That Will Live In Infamy! That's the day my body was invaded by my surgeon and my PC removed. I just asked my wife how she felt the night before, and she said "pretty scared". So, I think your wife's apprehension is very typical. My wife said she was concerned about whether the cancer had spread, how well I would recover from the surgery.....all kinds of fearsome thoughts. I only mention this to tell you that "This, too, shall pass". It's now been two years, and many of our fears actually (fortunately) never materialized, and many of them have long since even been forgotten! We'll keep you in our prayers! May GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!! John in CA 06-17-2005, 01:22 AM Ed, We're all pulling for you, buddy, so sure to write as soon as you can, because there's lots of sage advice and years of wisdom on this board. You'll be amazed at how relieved you feel as soon as you're back in your room! Yeah, you'll be sore and wanting some TLC, but whew! It sounds like from all your posts that you are in very good hands. My wife was also very nervous throughout the day prior to my surgery and even more so on the actual day. I, on the other hand, was more than ready to get that diseased sucker out of my body. :p I was at total peace while being wheeled into the O.R. as we had said our prayers and had the guidance from above so the surgical team was ready to do their best. It worked too! Good luck, Ed! positive4u 06-18-2005, 12:26 AM Ed,we're all pulling for you. Please let us know how things went as soon as you are able. Best of luck! Positive4u :) GR8HARE 06-18-2005, 09:12 AM Ed, Here's praying you had a great outcome and that all the wife's fears were for naught. Like John, I was just soooo ready to get the beast out of me, but of course the loved ones are the ones to worry. I think it passes quickly for them once the Dr. comes out to report on your progress. Hopefully it is short lived. Best of luck to you and drop us a line or two to let us know how you are. You probably won't fel like sitting next to the computer for more than 5 minutes, initially, but do give us a shout! Thom in VA |
