View Full Version : How much did you lose before seeing results?

Im 5'6 female and started at 156 pounds, size 14. Ive lost 9 pounds but cant see any difference yet. I cant feel any difference in the way my clothes fit either. How much did you have to lose before seeing results? If it was less then 9 pounds, were you already thinner than what I started at?

Well, I started at 157 post preg after dropping 28 pounds water weight. I went from 157 to 148 and didn't notice much difference. Dropped to 145 didn't notice much, but then I dropped to 135 in 6 weeks and that's when I noticed the difference. I know I dropped more since too, but I don't weight myself until mid July, so I won't know what I weigh til then. Its a thing I have, I don't like to get on the scale, only do it every 6 weeks. I think it has to do with more of the % of body weight you drop not the total amount of pounds that you'll notice the difference. For example if you weight 200 pounds and drop to 190 I doubt you would know, but if you went from 120 to 110 you would definitely know. Oh by the way I'm 5' 5 1/2", hope this helps.

I am 5'5". I went from 158 post pregnancy to 145 and didn't notice a big difference.- I am sure it was all "water weight".
Then dropped to 135 over 3 months- That did cause me to go from a size 10 to a size 6- then I dropped to 125 over 3 more months and that's when I noticed a huge difference. suddenly all my clothes were way to big. All my family suddenly noticed and started saying how thin I was. I had to buy all new size 2 clothes. It was actually really awsome- I began noticing muscle that had previously been under fat and saw my hipbones and ABS! I think losing the "last 10" is when you will see the biggest difference.

If I can butt in here...
I'm also 5'5" and weigh 159. I've been trying to lose weight because my son is getting married in Sept. and I would like to lose 25 to 30 lbs. Is that too unrealistic? How did you lose the weight so fast? I'm also 50 years old. My arms and legs aren't fat, it's all in the torso area. Any suggestions will help!

I lost 11 lbs in about a week and a half. I am doing low-carb. I eat less then 30 carbs/day. And I work out 6 days a week including cardio about 4-5 days 45 minutes each. I do strength training about 4 days/week and drink TONS of water.
Im 5'5'-5'6 started at 156 pounds (size 14) and am now 145 pounds.

WOW..some good weight loss going on here. For me I lost the first 7 lbs fast..in about three weeks. Then it has taken me about 3 months to drop the next 10 lbs. Now i'm struggling with the last bit. I didn't notice a thing in the begining after the 7 lbs. But after 3 months and 10 lbs i have noticed a lot of difference..my jeans are in no way hanging off of me but i do have lots of room to move. I feel better. I can see some muscles starting to show up. I think it is different for everyone. But if you stick with it you will see some results and there is nothing more modivational than that! Best of luck to you. I'm still fighting with myself to stay away from the scale!

Viclyn, don't think the weight loss happened quick, at least not for me, it took me about 19 months to go from 185 to about where I am now which I am guessing is somewhere between 126-129. It takes time to lose it, get through plateaus etc. The important thing is healthy eating, small meals, exercise regularly and lots of patience, good luck!
