Hi all
Im new to the board and Im wondering if those who have experience can help me.. I have been having messed up periods for about the last 4 years now.. My PMS over the last 4 years has gotten HORRID and I started feeling physically horrible about 5 days before my period gets here and when it does I am in bed for days until it's amost over sick as hell... One month it's SUPER heavy where I think I'm bleeding to death, the next month it's incredibly light but yet I am still sick with it no matter the flow.. One month it lasts 4 days the next it's around for 7...
I have always been on time forever.. I have NEVER been late Im like a clock until........ This month... It never showed up!... No, Im not pregnant it's a physical impossibility...I got just as sick this month when it was supossed to show up as I always do only difference was no flow.. Then anothe difference, I never bounced back from feeling aweful and the anxiety attacks have been WAY over the top.. Low and behold this morning? I checked and sure enough guess who decided to show up? Old Aunt Flo in all her glory allthough she is VERY VERY light it's almost like spotting more than a period.. I feel sick ALL over again like I usually do with my period but Im 12 days late this month..I swear I feel like Im in Pre meno if not menopause all together.. My doc isn't sure yet he wants to wait to see what happens next month..
I did start about a yr ago with hot flashes right before my period and durring.. I don't sweat through them I just get HORRIBLY hot and feel like I'm going to pass out for a few min until I sit in the AC or under a fan and then it passes... Does this sound like Pre meno to you or menopause? Any input will be a great help.. Thanks :)

Hi, I had a friend that stopped having periods at thirty-nine. She finally went to the doctor and had the blood test to see if she was in menopause and the answer was yes. So it can happen. It's pretty young but I have read about it happening to people even younger than you. You might want to have the test of which I cannot thing of the name. Good luck.

Since the whole process of menopause can last for years, it's entirely possible that you are starting this wonderful journey. You are certainly describing some of the most common symptoms that we share on this board.

As the previous poster said, you can have a test to determine where you are at in the hormone department.

I am still having regular periods, but I certainly can relate to the PMS issue. My PMS used to be just a few days before my period. Now it lasts for a few weeks.

Best wishes, and I hope you get some answers.

I was about 38 when I started really noticing symptoms, I'm now 44. My ob/gyn said that she sees women in their 30's going through perimenopause frequently.

Robyn:
My cousin was 33 when she stopped having her periods altogether, and it sure sounds like you have been going through all the fun the rest of us have been enjoying. I can relate to being in bed because of feeling so horrible. Sometimes the anxiety is so bad that my brain feels like it's pulsing and my heart palpitations just won't quit and I get so scared with all of it that I hardly know what to do. My periods have become very erratic like yours, never know how or when they are going to be, I was also regular as the sun coming up...not anymore. Accupuncture, and Revival Soy Bars plus walking about 2 miles a day has helped a lot. I was on Xanax around the clock but the accupuncture helped so much I was able to get off of it, *****!

Plus, just talking to all these wonderful women on this site - has helped me as much as anything!! I appreciate you all!
