Hi guys! Im new...and i need some help:

Sofar I have lost 15 lbs since about March. I still work out atleast 4-5 times a week, and I eat decently for the most part. The problem is....losing weight has been very difficult as of late...i sort of plateaued. I still need a bit of work on my diet. It is tough when noone else in my house really watches what they eat. Anyone have any advice in breaking a weight-loss plateau? I would like to lose another 10 lbs at LEAST. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

If you write down a sample day of your diet and work out it will be much easier for people to help suggest ways for you too break your diet plateu(sp?) In my opinion, the best way is too start with a clean diet and really stick with it and you will be back on track in no time. So write out your normal day and I can hopefully write more.

Breakfast usually i have a while grain english muffin with reduced fat peanut butter and sugar free jelly, lunch, usually a salad, and dinner, usually some sort of meat....frequently chicken, and a vegetable or rice or pasta.
.occasionally ill have shrimp or fish or beef....but not as often as chicken. For beverages i ususally drink water, crystal light or a diet soda here and there....and ill usually have a small snack here and there....yogurt, fruit, a 100 calorie pack thing...stuff like that. I dont usually eat late at night because i have bad acid reflux and i dont wanna get sick.

I find your diet pretty low in calories. You consume very little protein, not too much carbs, and a not enough healthy fats. If you exercise 4-5 times a week, you would surely need more calories, much more lean protein, more healthy fats, and also complex carbs. Your body may be in a starvation mode, thus minimizing bodyfat burned, and this may be a reason for your weight loss plateau.

Hey Renee-

Ok well I think your diet looks pretty clean.

I would suggest adding more to your breakfast:
english muffin w/ pb & Jam and cottage cheese with fruit
oatmeal or high fiber cereal w/fruit and milk
egg whites, turkey bacon, reduced fat cheese w/ whole wheat toast
-Just add a little more protien and a maybe some fats-

Snacks:
look good but I would add some veggies & low cal dip( mustard salsa hummus) or some turkey jerkey (protien snacks)

Lunch:
Make sure to add grilled chicken, turkey, tuna or egg or any kind of protien on your salad

Dinner:
Looks good just make sure you are eating LEAN protiens and cooking them healthfully ie. grilling, baking, broiling.....

Also you didnt really specify what you do on your work outs 4 days a week but weight training DEFINATLY will break a weight plataeu! If you are mostly doing cardio try adding some weight training 3x a week or so and you should notice a change. Also make sure you are drinking your WATER!!!

Good Luck
