Hi everyone,
I would like to thank everyone that responded to my cry for advise. You have been more helpful than you know. I have decided to go through with the surgery and after monday 6/20 I will have my own story to tell. Hopefully it will help others as you have helped me. I am still nervous but I try to keep busy so I dont think about it as much. When I do, I think about all the advise I got from you and I feel better about it. Two thumbs up for this message board! If there's anyone contemplating having gum surgery and bone grafting I would be more than happy to share my experience with you. We all need someone to lean on sometimes. I have faith in the Lord that everything will work out just fine. Thank You again for sharing your experiences I am truely greatful.

Hi lateeth,
I was hoping you would respond. I was reading your posts before surgery and it helped me alot. Thank you. I am still sore. I feel like I got hit in the face with a baseball bat. My lower jaw is really swollen. I look like a chipmunk. The stitches hurt and are very uncomfortable. I'm taking 800 mg. motrin every 4 hrs. I did not get a protective bandage like you did so I'm sensitive to everything. I cant wait to feel better. I'm at work but I keep getting dizzy spells. I wish I could put something on my gums so I cant feel the stiches as much. Any Ideas? he told me no salt water rinses too. Only peridex rinse twice a day.

Hi Honey B. Sorry you had a rough time of it. By now it is late friday afternoon so you will have the weekend to rest i hope. But i also hope you are feeling much better by now! If you need more work on different areas, i would definitely request the bandage thing. In one place where a small piece of my bandage cracked off quickly i could really tell the difference in pain between the bandaged and unbandaged area. A friend also recomended to me to take papaya enzyme pills beforehand to help with swelling. I do not know if those pills did the trick as I heal well usually, but i had no swelling.
Hope you feel muuuuuch better today.
