I had an abcessed tooth that is in midst of root canal. A few weeks ago I had a very swollen face but that has eased. I now have a lump below that tooth, about a finger width below gumline and extending beneath where the lip and gums meet if that makes sense. Now under my jaw is becoming painful to touch. There is no tooth pain at all.
What is this likely to be..is it still from the abcess or could it be something unrelated. I am supposed to be getting the root canal/crown finished off in 3 days but wonder what is going to happen to this lump etc if something is still wrong. What should I do????

Did you have X-ray before they did root canal?
Sometimes, if the abscess is chronic and severe, it could drill your gum and create their own canal as the line for leaking the pus. My abscess was so chronic and it create a persistent pimples in the nearby gum. If your dentist already filled your tooth without realizing that your infection already spread to the gum that could guide the pus to damage your gum. Ask your dentist to recheck your tooth and ask X-ray if you think you need.
Good luck
