I had a sex play, although not involving any exchange of bodily fluids. I had a butt plug inserted inside of me. Thing is that after a day or two (the weekend of May 28&29), i had a flu like symptoms, specifically, score throat (inflamed tonsils, which caused pain when i swallow), fever, chills. But I also have to bear in mind that day was also pretty cold too, so, don't know if my flu like symptom would be the likely cause of the cold weather, or if it had any relations to my incident. Although my flu like symptoms and score throat is gone, i still do see something that sort of enlarged at the back of my throat, although it's not bothering me anymore. I have had oral sex even early, like 2 months earlier, but can't see why the flu like symptom didn't happen then.
I was reading that hiv MAY cause flu like symptoms, but not necessarily. Another thing, can hiv survive outside the body, ie on a sex toy? Hopefully my chances are very low here.
I'm planning to get tested soon. Though it may be too early to detect anything, as it's still less than a month. I just hope it's just me being a little hypochondriac here.

Since your sex toy doesn't emit any bodily fluids (semen, blood, vaginal secretions, etc.) you cannot get HIV from a sex toy. However, if you and a partner are exchanging sex toys and if you insert it immediately (and I empphasize immediately) after they have used it and if there is blood, etc on the toy then I would think the probabilities, though remote, increase. (Don't share those toys while pleasuring yourselves. Don't be cheap! Buy your own!).
RE: your oral experience two months ago. Again, if you received then there is virtually no probability. If you gave and there were ejaculatory fluids then, again, the probabilities are slim UNLESS you may have had an open sore (like a canker sore) in your mouth, then the probabilities increase slightly. It appears as though, from most of the data, that saliva can destroy the virus.
RE: survival outside of the body. It also appears as though the virus is a very fragile one. It loves and thrives inside the nice, warm recesses of your inner self but is doomed outside of the body. However, just because it seems the sanitary-thing-to-do, you should be cleaning the toys after each use. Warm soapy water should do the trick.
Finally, the only way to really make certain about your HIV status is to be tested. Otherwise, you are just whistling in the dark and no matter how many symptoms your present here, we are only speculating about their origin or what they mean. Symptomotologies vary from disease to disease but also mimic other diseases. My rule? Sometimes a cold is just a cold.

ok, I was on the receiving end, meaning my penis was sucked on. But i have read that you can contract HIV though the urethra, but then again, the chances are very very low. so, my symptoms was probably something else. i'm just probably worrying over nothing.

Protecting the urethra is what a condom does. HIV isn't absorbed into the system through the external tissues/skin of the penis. More than likely you are safe from HIV becuase HIV tends not to survive in saliva. However, it does open you to the possibilities of gonnorhea, syphilis, clamydia, etc. Sorry if this scares you...
