I am considering having a primary rhinoplasty performed by either Dean Toriumi of Chicago, or Geoffrey Tobias of NYC. Has anyone heard of them, had surgery perfomed by them? Any insight you could offer would be appreciated!
Thanks.

There has been quite a bit of press on both doctors concerning their revision skills. I have not seen a post from anyone who has used them so I am very curious to obtain feedback from a patient so I can determine if either is a good choice for my revision work. Please let me know if you gather any feedback from a patient.
Thanks,
Landon

I've had primary by Tobias. I can sum it up though, by recommending you stick with Toriumi! I have heard excellent things about him.

Personally, I wouldn't go to tobias for a primary nose job; he doesn't take enough off, even if you need it !! he's too worried about the nose collapsing. i guess thats a good thing, but he is still too conservative with how much he removes. go to someone who trusts himself with the knife! go to a real doctor. not a revision specialist. good luck.

I don't know where you get your information, believe me, he took way too much "off" of me, to the point where I need a revision. He was not at all conservative.
Third, revisionists are REAL doctors, believe me, since secondary rhinoplasties are 100 times harder than primaries.
He is a bad example.
If you are considering rhinoplasty, good luck to you.

I had a consultation with Dr. Toriumi today. He is going to be doing a revision rhinoplasty on me in the Spring. He is excellent. I have many complex issues he has to deal with and he is completely confident that he can do the work. I feel very comfortable with him and his reputation is excellent. If you are looking to have your first (and only rhinoplasty) I would suggest Toriumi do it.

I had a consultation with tobias last week for a secondary rhinoplasy. Can anyone out there, speaking from experience, recommend a excellent surgeon for a revision in New Jersey?
So, has anyone had expericen with either of these two doctors for a revision??? Would anyone recommend either of them for a revision?
Thanks
I actually had primary rhinoplasty surgery by Dr. Toriumi approximately 18 months ago. I did have some post-operative complications, but I am very happy with my choice. Dr. Toriumi is very professional, talented and confident. He does so without the air of arrogance that I felt with other doctors I consulted in making my decision. Although I believe I'll need a couple of minor "adjustments", I'm very pleased with the overall improvement. I will not allow any doctor except for Dr. Toriumi to touch my nose.

Hi,
I too have heard a lot about Tobais. I'm glad to hear now the bad things, I had heard so many good things I'd begun to consider seeing him about my nose. Can anyone suggest someone in the Connecticut area? I'm looking to have rhinoplasty.
Thanks.

Dr. Thomas is Dr. Toriumi's partner and he is unbelievable. I couldn't be more pleased.
