Hello everyone...I am new to this particular board, and new to experiencing the changes my body is going through. Maybe you can offer input on a question or two? The women in my family have had hysterectomies by age 42, so they can't seem to help me...
I am 42...due for a physical in July. Everything had been great until about 7 months ago. Periods that were regular are now consistently 4 days late each month. I have occasional INTENSE pain -like an inner stiffening -where my right ovary is located.
I have begun having killer headaches with each menstrual cycle...my skin -which was clear even as a teen - breaks out terribly...I have hot and cold flashes....can (and do) cry at the drop of a hat during the days just before my cycle...and I am sooooo fatigued.
I will also tell you that I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with MS, the symptoms of which are intensified during my cycle. Oh! And I have to pluck coarse dark hairs from my chinseveral times a week! LOL!
Does this sound like peri-menopause? ANY input, shared experiences, suggestions and solutions are SO welcome!!!
Thanks so much!!

Sure does sound like perimenopause. God Bless you, I will pray for you and the MS. Hope one day they find that they diagnosis was wrong.

Ainfante...thanks so much for your reply! I suspect the MS is exacerbated by peri-menopause. Either one can make you feel you're going crazy! You know "something" isn't right, but there are no outward signs as proof! I appreciate your prayers -as I too am a person of prayer! God bless you! Thank you!

Hi KelliD
Have your gyno do a blood test to check the hormone levels. Sure sounds like perimenopause to me, too. I think we know our bodies very well. I kept telling my dr I was going into menopause & she said I was too young (43). I kept insisting & finally did the right blood tests and sure enough....meno was on the horizon.
Sorry you have to deal with the MS and this too, but with all your drs working together, I am sure you can get some good help to lessen the symptoms of perimenopause.
