Hi all,

I am going to go get my 24 hr urine container probably within the next week.

When I do the test, I understand what I have to do, but I am trying to read my requisition form here and where the doctor has written on it, she is having my urine tested for, creatinine, citrate, ca. oxalate, phosphorus and something else that I can't read.

My question is, what is a normal test, what are the numbers, so when I get the results back I will know.

My blood came back good and now the urine is really frightening me, because I think whatever is producing the stones is more of my urine than anything else. But I don't know until I see the doctor.

I have been taking my magnesium, b complex, potassium, flax seed oil and my multivitamin and I feel really good, but we will see if my stones are still in my kidney when I have my x-ray next month.

Thanks for reading my long boring post.

JC

Nope,

I have a friend that is a pharmacist and told me that it is good for the kidneys.

On my label of the bottle it says that it is good for kidneys.

Potassium is NOT necessarily good for your kidneys, depends on what is or is not wrong with your kidneys!

I have to strictly limit my intake, on my Dr.'s orders, as my level is prone to be elevated. So I would not take extra if I were you, unless your Dr. says your tests have come out o.k. JMHO

Hi Joe,

thats true potassium is good for kidneys but if you are taking a 24 urine test you might show elevated forms of it in your test. Kidneys that are not functining at their best might have a problem with too much potassium. If your kidneys are bad you should stay away from too much sodium & potassium. check the kidney website for more information. My son has problems with his kidneys and he is told not to have anything with potassium & too much sodium. He is on a strict diet now. That 24 hour urine test is a pain but they need to do that on a regular basis to check how your kidneys are getting rid of your toxins and the creatnine and BUN levels are closely monitored.
Try visiting the website for the national kidney foundation. They contain alot of materials about the tests.

hang in there:-)
