View Full Version : Lump under jaw?

Just about 2 months ago I noticed a lump developing on my jaw under the left bottom wisdom tooth. I know that that tooth is infected and soon will be removed along with the 3 other wisdom teeth. What worries me is some days the lump may be about the size of a pea, somedays like today, it is almost the size of a walnut.

My concern is that it is more serious than just swolen glands or what not. I have no idea what this can lead to if I dont get it treated, which I will. I have not experienced any tooth pain for some time, but my jaw itself gets tender obviously when it swells. Will antibiotics and an antiinflamitory(advil, vicadin, etc...) keep it down until my wisdom teeth are removed?

My worst fear is that it could be some form of cancer, very doubtful, but like I said, fearing the worst. Thanks in advance.
