14 y/o, 163 lbs and 5"10. Looking to go down to around 135-140 lbs over the summer.
First of all, I've been trying to lose weight for a week or two now. It hasn't been very succesful - only a pound or two I think. I know that it's gradual of course.
Had a bad weekend - no exercise Friday though ate sensibly, Saturday again no exercise, had big breakfast, lunch and a McDonalds dinner - Sunday - did about an hour and a half walking this morning, very good, helped clear my room, more exercise. Went to gym and could barely cope, only burning around 250 calories. Then I stuffed my face.
I feel so bad with myself right now it's unbelievable... I guess I just need a little bit of support. I have lost alot of weight naturally (while eating my old, unhealthy diet), but I want to lose alot over the summer like I say... is it possible?
Can I get some advice with eating, what to eat when I'm extremely hungry (not just fruit), what I should do exercise wise when 1) at the gym, 2) at home. Also, I've heard Chewing Gum makes weight loss harder, true?
Thanks guys,
Euan

Breakfast:- Same every morning, two weetabix with usually bananas or another type of fruit.
Lunch:- A different sandwich each day, bottle of water and a nutri-grain bar.
Dinner:- Different every day. Usually not bad, something like pasta, potatoes etc. Nothing like chips/fries etc.
When I snack it is almost always fruit. When I drink, it's water - only time I have anything different is when I have milk with my cereal.
Cardio:
I do the usual walking around school in the day, have a paper round which takes me twenty minutes but I don't walk too fast. I two or three times a week go to the gym, burning usually around 7-800 calories a time. If not, I maybe go up to the park for a ten minute run (I'm not fit at all!) or do twenty minutes stepping up and down the first step on my stairs.

Ditch the fruit as snacks, because even though it is healthy it's not really weight loss healthy. Stick with veggies instead. It's ok to have every once in awhile but not for every snack.
Try to get your meals looking like this.
7am - 1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese
1/2 cup oats
2 egg whites
11:30 - 1 Can of Tuna or another lean meat
salad
2:30 - whey protein shake
4:30 - strawberries, 1/2 cup cottage cheese or peanut butter
8pm - chicken breast, pasta or complex carbs with low fat/low sugar dressings and sweet potatoe
Just keep protein intake high with all your meals and reduce the amount of carbs you get by a lot. Lots of lean meats like turkey and fish to.
