Is it possible for the birth control pill to weaken the immune system. I used to be perfectly healthy and about a year and a half ago when I started taking the pill I developed epstein barr and have had tonsilitis 3 times, as well as sinus infections that I have never had before. I had read somewhere that BCP can weaken an immune system and I was wondering how true this is.

Hi,
I have heard about that before. I think cause of the changes of hormones causes the immune system to weaken. When i was on Ortho-novum 777, i was never sick. But, once I switched to Depo-Provera, i got sick all the time. Since stopping it i have been in the best of health. It does make you think about it.
