hi
i have been on the depo injection for 15 months now, since i had my daughter. i have just missed my last injection due on 16 june 2005 as i am wanting to have another baby. just wondering if anyone else has been on this injection and stopped it to have a baby. how long will it take to get pregnant? with my last pregnancy i was pregnant within a month of trying. thanks for any replies.

I'm not really sure how long. My friend was on it for about 3 years. It took her half that time to get pregnant. She is the only person I have known to get off it. I'm not real informative. Sorry.

It will really depend on the person. I was on the depo for 7½ years. My last injection was in January 04...which means I was protected up to April 04. Had just 1 menstrual cycle in October 04. Found out I was pregnant in January of 05. Conception happenned in December of 04...about 8 months after the depo.
We were not trying to conceive...it just happenned. We were shocked.

I went on Depo after having my first child (who I got pregnant with the first month of trying), stayed on it for 2 years, then went off of it to have another baby. It took me 2 years to get pregnant. Main reason is because my period never returned. I was put on Clomid and after 4 months, I got pregnant. With the exception of the 4 months that I was on Clomid, I didn't get my first period til 5 years after Depo. It really depends on the person. Some women get pregnant within months of their last injection. Then there are others who take years.

I just got off of depo too,,, last shot was due in March 05 and I still have not had a monthly flow yet,,, good luck.

Hi, i came off depo in March 04 and have been waiting for AF since, i have had it induced twice by the doctor and still no pg, it is said that it can take 12 - 18 months or more to concieve after getting off Depo.
All i can say is good luck, hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones :)

I was on Depo for about a year and 4 months, and my last shot was up in March. A few days before I was due for the shot, I started to spot and then had about 4 periods in about 6 weeks. It has gradually space out to normal. It's really had to say on depo on how long for your body to get back to normal. Good luck.

hi the last time i missed my jab was in april 05 and i was a week late getting my jab but got aunty flo exactly one week to the day of missing my injection. if i get aunty flo straight away does that mean that i am ovulating and able to get pregnant. thanks for everyones replies

I know this may be a stupid question but here goes. I received my last depo shot on 8-1-06 and skipped my last depo shot that was to be given on
10-19-06 to have another child, but I didn't get a menstrual cycle yet. Can I get pregnant before getting a menstrual cycle? I know someone who says yes, but I say no. If anyone else knows please give me a reply. Thank you.

Anyway.....to answer your question. I suppose it could happen if you happen to get pregnant the first time you ovulate, which would prevent you from getting your period.....but seeing as how you were on Depo, chances are that you are not even ovulating. My period didn't return for 5 years after stopping Depo, but I managed to get pregnant during those 5 years because I went on Clomid.
