View Full Version : Tooth question...really need some input

Last night I pulled my 6 year olds first two baby teeth out :( , she was so brave. Anyway they were both her bottom front teeth but heres the thing the bottom tooth on the left was actually two teeth fused together, her front tooth and the one next to it.
I knew since she was a baby that the two teeth were fused and I was reasured by both her pediatrician and dentist that her adult teeth wont be just because her baby teeth were, so I was never concerned about it. However last night after removing the teeth I noticed that behind where the fused tooth was there is the top of an adult tooth and its a little far back.
Alright so I have two questions since there is room now could her now showing adult tooth move foward on its own and take the place of the removed tooth or am I deffinetly looking at braces in the future?
Heres the question that I really need some input on I am really concerned about it, since the fused tooth left one whole will the two adult teeth have problems coming in? Will they both try to come up through the same whole? Will they just rip through her gums and come in normally? Like I already mentioned one of the teeth is already showing but its behind where her tooth was, could the two adult teeth overlap?
Please any information on this would be wonderful I am really worried about it.

When I was about 9 my adult eye teeth started growing in front of my baby teeth and weren't pushing them out, so I had to get the baby teeth pulled. Even though the adult teeth were WAY forward, once I got the baby teeth pulled, they moved back into place where they were supposed to be. I have really straight teeth and have never needed braces.

You never know, of course, but from my experience, braces are not definite. They can definitely move back into place once there is room for them.

As far as the hole goes, the gums will heal and the adult teeth could move into different places and come through where they are supposed to go

Advice from experience!

Don't worry until you have to.

The teeth will move into the right place usually, my daughter had a tooth coming in high up in the top of her mouth and it is in the correct place now!
A lot of children have braces now, perfect teeth is the fashion! There is no name calling if you have a brace now!

My daughter has adult teeth missing and will need a brace and false teeth to have a 'normal' smile. She also has weak teeth and gets regular fillings and coatings.

When the school photo session comes around get her to smile showing her spaces, you will appreciate the difference in her teeth when she is a teenager!
