I have had a white lesion on my tongue for a few months now and recently started searching the web for info. Everything points me to leukoplakia. I've had a vert loose stool lately as well so I'm completely freaked out. I am going today to be tested, but I feel so hopeless right now. If it is positive, then the tongue thing would mean that I've had it for a while. I can't even begin to think about how I'll tell my wife and kids...Anyway, I'm more freaked out now than I've ever been in my life. Please help!

I know how you feel...I am also very scared about going in for my test on Thursday. The only thing that can make this fear go away is to go in for that test...be brave and know that your family will love you no matter what.

I know that this hard, but you will be ok. Take the test and then the worry will disappear. By taking the test you are showing how strong you are.By collecting the results you make superman look like a wimp. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I actually took a blood test yesterday, but the results won't be back until Friday. I couldn't stand to wait that long, so I found an agency that will do the oral test for me today...my stomach is in knots and I'm practically shaking. I'm not even sure I can go through it today, except that waiting until Friday is even worse!

Did you have a HIV specific test?Well done for getting tested but why not wait till Friday and save some money?If you really cant wait then good luck,im sure you will be fine. Thinking of you!

Thanks for your support. I sure hope you're right about being OK! Anyway, the blood test I took was a full panel for all STD's (including HIV). The test today is no cost apparently, but I'd happily pay almost anything to get tested today. My wife just called me about a mundane thing...I almost started crying right then...

Just a follow up...not quite as scared... I had the Oraquick test done today and it was NEGATIVE! Now that I know the sopt on my tongue isn't HIV related, the next question is what is it??? Next stop is my primary care physician (where I probably should have started).

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone who has posted on this board (whether you replied to my post or not). Like many other posts I saw, I had convinced myself that I was infected and you all helped tremendously in giving me a glimmer of hope that I was wrong. I can't ever remember being happier to be wrong.
