Does anyone know what to use for bruising and swelling before and after surgery? I have heard that Vitamin K in large doses before hand was good and arninca. Anything else? Thanks!!

I've heard that Bromelain (an herbal supplement) is good for swelling. Also, eating 1/2 a fresh pineapple a day is supposed to help. (Pineapple is the source of Bromelain.)

I've heard that Bromelain, Pycnogenol and Arnica will all help. I just had several procedures done all at the same time - rhinoplasty, chin augmentation & a mini cervicoplasty. I was extremely bruised & swollen. I took Arnica & Bromelain, and the doctor was very impressed with the speed of my recovery. I don't know if they actually helped - who knows how quickly I would have healed without taking them - but I tend to believe they did have something to do with it. I didn't end up taking the Pycnogenol just because it was pricey, but the Arnica & Bromelain were very inexpensive. Good luck to you!
