I have been having these weird thoughts that are quite hard to describe they just sort of come out of no where and are totally meaningless. I mean I get loads of the "what if" ones that are quite scarey but these are similar but they are just about totally stupid things like things you would dream about or something, that level of strange !! Maybe its my imagination or something its just really weird.

Just wondering if anyone could relate at all ?

Im not sure if what i get is same thing you describe or not.I get this just before falling asleep in bed at night sometimes. What happens is i can be thinking about events that went on in my day and then suddenly i have all this mess go on in my mind just off the wall stuff like a street name or someones face, some of the things i end up forgetting directly after although i know it was happening.Im not sure if maybe i really did fall asleep for a few seconds and then awake ,but it doesnt feel as though i did,It feels like i was awake the whole time just have my eyes closed.Deffinitly very very strange
If you find out anything please let us know...........take care

by the way the off the wall things i think of are things i have never heard of nor seen before.

most of us that suffer from anxiety THINK too much. that is why we have anxiety problems. little things become bigs things, everyday activities end up in a tragedy, worrying about things that MIGHT happen. or imagine up new ones.this is one of the reasons we have anxiety. I have to keep my mind and body busy so i dont think rotton thoughts. unfortunately when its time for sleep, thats when I have most of my major attacks, so i have resorted to either reading , tv or doing a crossword to fall asleep ( usually the tv stays on or the book is in my lap) but it has worked. nothing for almost 2 weeks. good luck!

I get weird crap running through my head too, especially all that health anxiety bull crap about my stomache and alot of other crap too. Goes along with anxiety I guess. You are not alone. Sucks big time.

That sounds exactly like what I experience, I have heard its some sort of normal hallucination that alot of people get just before they go to sleep and some when they wake up. But I cant remember what its called.I will try and find out.......

unwanted unpleasant thoughts can come from OCD, an anxiety condition, look up OCD on the net

Try not to think about yourself when going to bed or lying awake. Read till your eyes fall shut, or listen to audiobooks (the latter is better because you don't have light disturbing your circadian rhythms).

Yep... I deal this with from the time I wake up until I fall asleep at night.

My mind just won't stop... it races. Random thoughts, mostly "what if's" enter my brain non stop. It's almost as if my mind can't rest.

I really long for a peaceful mind. I can't even imagine what that would be like.

*sigh*
