It has now been a little over 3 months since I stopped taking bcps (yasmin) and I am yet to have a period, other than the withdrawal bleed from finising the last pack. However, I do get cramping and bloating and could swear it's coming, but it never does. I've had numerous tests done but still feel like the docs are missing something. My estrogen was normal (54), no thyroid problems and my general blood work is all normal. I also had a fasting insulin test to check for pcos, which was normal. In addition to not getting a period, I have noticed increased acne, especially on my back, some weight gain (102 up from 95 pounds) and major water retention. I should add that I am not pregnant! I am so discouraged and doctors seem to attribute everything to anxiety. Does anyone know whether these problems are normal symptoms of my body adjusting to not being on the pill anymore, or are there other tests I should have?? I feel so "broken" and feel like I'm losing control over my body. Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated!!

Have they tested all your hormones, pituitary, adrenal and ovarian? As an example, I'm not getting periods any more when I'm not on the pill thanks to a high acth level. You just have to find a doctor willing to dig a little.

I believe my cortisol levels were tested when my doc tested me for pheochromocytoma - I had a 24 hr. urine test for catecholomines and cortisol I believe (sorry to sound so technical). I was even tested for acromegaly, which is really rare and is a pituitary problem. I have an appt. with my gyno in July so hopefully I'll get some more information. I am so exhausted from worrying about what is going on with me from the minute I wake up in the morning until I go to bed at night. Thanks for listening.
