Hi all.

My girlfriend has been on the pill for almost 2 years and uses the combined pill , taking it for 21 days and then 7 days off before starting again.

I read everywhere that it's risky if you vomit shortly after taking a pill as it may not be absorbed into the body but what if you vomit once during the pill free days? My girlfriend was ill slightly on the third day of her 7 pill free days You are supposed to be protected during the 7 pill free days even though no pills are taken so in this case there is no pill taken to be thrown up.
She had taken all her 21 pills correctly and on time, both starting and finishing, prior to these pill free days and will start her new ones on time as usual.

We had intercourse using a condom with spermicide(as we always do alongside the pill, during the pill free period..actually it was the night before her withdrawal bleeding occurred)

Can someone help please?

Getting sick during the seven pill free days has absolutely no bearing on the pill's efficiency. So long as she took the 21 hormone pills correctly, then you have nothing to worry about.

Your girlfriend is EQUALLY protected the entire month. She is no more at risk during her pill free week then at any other time during the month, so long as she takes her pills correctly: every day and on time. The pill, when taking correctly, is 99.7-99.9% effective. The fact you are using condoms in addition to the pill means the odds of her getting pregnant are even smaller.

Relax, you're fine. :)
