Hi,

my symptoms started back in february, for about a week i had really low lvl nausea and some cramps, more annoying than debilitating. then on vacation (of course) i had really bad diahrrea and cramps, nausea and really sharp but really quick pain in random places all over my abdomen. one night i woke up and my stomach would not stop gurgling, for like 3 hours it gurgled non-stop. I got better a week after, but the nausea and random cramps never really went away.
i went to my doctor and he said it was probably a bug, the second time he suggested it might be parasites so i had a stool test done but this came back positive (is it true that the sample has to be recieved immediately? because they didnt recieve mine until it was a day old). he then scheduled me for an ultra-sound which came back normal. i also had 2 blood tests done. around this time i started developing mucus in my stool, now i have tons of mucus in my stool like i literally blew my nose its on the toilet paper too. my stools are usually small and soft but sometimes ill only have small stools and others ill have really bad diahrrea. I went to a new doctor about a month ago and he suggested it might be an acid problem so i went on some acid reducing prescription pill for about a week which did nothing. he diagnosed me with IBS but said a colonoscopy was needed to fully rule out anything bad. Lately ive been getting fatigued and dizzy by mid afternoon and i have random joint pains in my elbow and ankles that are only apparent on some days and go away with excercise. Should i be worried? could this be a parasite they didnt pick up? Could it be colon cancer (im only 16)? or are these classic symptoms of IBS?

Thanks

Please note Im not a doctor this is only my personal opinion... I don't get the feeling from your post that you're dealing with cancer.. The feeling I do get is you still may have an unresolved parasite problem seeing as how you were allready diagnosed with a parasite.. What parasite was it? What kind of treatment did you receive and for how long. You could also have IBS...If it were me I would revisit the original parasite I was initially diagnosed with and go from there.. Let us know how you make out..

well the pediatrician said i might have a parasite, he didnt specify which, when i gave the department of health my 1 day old stool sample both tests came back negative, i have no idea what tests and i also dont know if the samples were fresh enough, people have told me that sometimes those tests come back negative when in reality they are positive, im scheduled to see a GI sometime this week or next.
