So I turned 42 yesterday, wonder if they'll still tell me I am too young for Peri Menopause?
My periods are all over the place. I go from a good 26 to 28 days apart to 22 to 20 days. Here for the last few cycles they are heavy and full of clots for about two days then it goes away 100%. A few days later I start feeling cramps again and have brown blood and or discharge for about two days?
Is this typical?

HI Bell,
I am 51 and noticed peri symtpoms in my mid to late 40s. I am still getting periods and they have been pretty much coming in the early 20s as far as the day and then a few at day 30 something and some at day 40 something but that has been rare.
I have experienced where I get them, have a flow for a couple days (no clots though, although I know others on here have talked about that) and then it is gone after those first couple days. Then a few days later have the brown stuff which my gyn said is "old blood". I did mention it to my gyn when this happened and it is a good idea to always mention the changes to your doctor. But it sounds very much like what myself and others have experienced.
Tale care,
rmc

Mine started a week before my 43rd birtday. However it's still going on and I'm still having my periods. I thought back then it was going to happen very quickly but it didn't. Sounds like that's what it is. Don't panic it takes forever.

Mine are also all over the place. This year so far Day 65, 26, 54, 21 - so now it is a lottery as to when it will come. Last year had spotting ( the yukky brown stuff) but that has pretty much stopped this year. Do get a lot of clots on Day 1 or 2 - and a fair bit of mucous. Seems to be the pattern for us lucky ladies.
