So i have been on ortho tri-cyclen lo for about a week and ever since i have been taking them i have become extremely irritable! I am really thinking that it is because of them that i am so moody. Is this possible? If so, what would be a good recomendation of birth control?

I was on otc lo, and didnt experience the moodiness, BUT when I was on my first month of Estrostep (a few years ago), which is also triphasic, I was moody. But it went away in a month.

You have only been on it for a week so your body is adjusting. You really shouldn't give up on a birth control until you have been using it for 3 months. The side effects will go away. I have been on 4 different types of birth control in the past 4 years and the only one I had trouble with was Ortho Tri Cyclen lo. It made my skin breakout terrible and I felt like crap. If you really want to switch pills though I would recommend Yasmin. I really like it.
