I've had low BP for the last couple of years now. I'm talking it has been as low as 71/32, I had a nurse tap me on the shoulder thinking I was dead for that one.

Anyhoo. My GP knows I have low BP but doesn't seem too concerned about it. I'm having issues with it because I think it is the reason I'm having problems upon rising from a stooped or bent over position. When I stand up it gets black and I feel like I'm going to pass out. This feeling last for about a minute. I've described it to several people and they seem to think it is the low BP causing it. Is it true the blood pools in the legs and upon standing its not getting to my upperbody fast enough?

Is there a drug for low BP? They have one for high BP. Are they ever concerned about people with low BP? I just hate being lightheaded and dizzy so much.

Low bp isn't a problem unless you have side effects, like you do. I don't know if there is a drug for low bp. You can try eating a lot of salty food or taking decongestants that contain pseudoephedrine (like Sudafed).

You said your doctor wasn't concerned. Did you tell him you almost black out upon standing? Have you been checked for internal bleeding like a stomach or intestinal ulcer?

MommyhasMS,

Please see the thread entitled: "For Mystiq86". There is talk about a drug that can be used to raise blood pressure here. I raised my blood pressure by increasing salt intake and water dramatically.
