Has anyone been prescribed Pheregan to help them sleep? My NP gave me some and it along with the Depakote cut down on alot of my sleepless nights. It works much better than the Vistaril.

Hey at least you know that your stomache will be in good form :) I have seen my mom take it before (when she was in the hospital after surgery) and it knocked her right out. Let me know how it works for you, may get some myself. :bouncing: DF SadFreek 06-24-2005, 12:55 AM that stuff will deffinatly put you to sleep! I had to stay up after taking one pill and it was horrible. I was dragging my feet and slurring my speach...and Im 6'3 200lbs! ms_seeker 06-25-2005, 05:05 AM Well the reason I have some Phenergan is because I was desperate to get some sleep. I had been up for days and the insomnia was beginning to make me feel shaky.I walked into a clinic since my regular office was closed. I was treated by a nurse practitioner. She was limited as far as what she could prescribe. I told her vistaril was useless for me. She looked thru the samples and couldn't find anything that would make me rest. She couldn't give me a benzo or Ambien. I then asked for some Phenergan, which didn't always knock me out in the past. She agreed and gave me the prescription. When I got home I took my Depakote and a dose of Phenergan, not expecting anything. I slept for 8 or 9 hours. When I go back I am going to ask my regular practitioner to put me on it or at least a small dose of a regular sleping pill. Not sure how this may work for others but it worked as well as a Ambien or Valium for me, and those help me a great deal. I also don't have to be viewed as a junkie by asking for Phenergan. hry33 06-25-2005, 02:35 PM the older antihistamines sedate usually as a side effect but this is variable some use them during the day for anxiety, travel sickness pills usually have antihistamines in them |
