I seem to be keeping a elevated wbc (from 14 to 22 lately) and platlet count my hematoligist told me my body is over-producing bone morrow..and if it continues he will have to slow it down..The thing is i have been seeing him and had blood tests every 6 weeks for over a year by a few docs i have been sent to my wbc has been elevated now over 2 years and has not gone back to normal at all..
but he has not done a bone marrow test and at first he said it was elevated due to me being very anemiac but i got iron infusions and my iron is back to normal, Then he said it was allergies and i got sent to a specialist for allergies and i'm on allergy meds and shots now the allergies are treated..My wbc was 18.9 my last visit.
He tells me not to worry that if needed he will slow down my bone marrow..If i don't have cancer or any of these problems he thought i did what else can cause your body to do this and to keep a wbc that doesn't go down to normal.. I really don't know much about my problem and the doctor confuses me..Anyone who can explain it would be great..THNX!

Maybe the Essential Thrombocythemia or Thrombocytosis threads may be of some help. Do i understand correctly that your platelet count is also elevated? if so, then these threads will go into more detail with regard to your condition.
