View Full Version : Help...Mild Symptoms, but painful!

Occassionally after I eat certain things, I will not feel well... My main problem is stomach cramping, it can be horrible and sometimes relieved by a loose stool but sometime not for a half hour or so.

I have thought that I was lactose intolerant for the past year, yet the more I read, it seems that I have a lot more of the milk alergy rather than lactose intolerant symptons. I swear its both (I dont know if this is possible). I get severe stomach cramping from dairy products, and have completely taken them out of my diet.

Raw foods also bother me, a piece of meat can never be too rare or its going to be a miserable night. I absolutly love Sushi, but cant try to many different rolls. Sometimes just meat in general will bother me.

Does this sound like a borderline case of IBS?

I live in a small town, and I am waiting till I move to a city (in two months) to wait for a doctor's opinion. Right now I am looking for something I could take to maybe relieve the symptoms. I would like to try the Digestive Advantage, but I dont know if I should take this without a doctors opinion. Since it is over the counter, it may help the mild symptoms.

Anything I can buy to help (even if it is a little bit)?

Any input would be wonderful. Thanks.
Becca

PS Does anyone think that a internal cleansing program would work? Any suggestions?

It could be IBS. For myself, whenever I eat something that is not good for me, I feel like absolute crap. Its kinda good in a way - my ibs makes me eat only good food. I would advise you to search these boards and learn what the ibs friendly foods are. Fiber supplements are very helpful, and lots of water too. As far as the ibs advantage - I tried it, and it is absolute crap. Fiber supplements are much more effective.

In my case, it really doesn't seem like there is a such thing as an IBS-Friendly food. When I'm having a bad spell, certain foods might make it worse, but they never actually are the cause. It doesn't matter what I eat. It seems to be random, periodic and unpredictable when I'll feel bad.

I do know that when I'm feeling bad tomato sauce and hot-spicy greasy foods really aggravate it. Since finding a good probiotic last year, I've been feeling better much more consistently than I ever have in the past.
Reuteri is the brand I use. I really think it works.
