You are a menstruating female who has been on a diet to lower her cholesterol and tryglycerides and your blood was taken during or just after a monthly period, or a time when the estrogen levels were affecting the white cell counts. The below range white cell counts indicate that you have had stress in your life in the last three months and the lower range red cell counts reveal that your body is functioning well and is in the process of manufacturing more red blood cells that have not matured enough to be counted but nonetheless are there.

How do you know all of that? The blood sample was taken during my period and I am a menstruating female. I have reduced my intake of saturated fat.

However....these counts have been falling for a year. I was slightly anemic at my last appt one year ago. Before that, I was completely fine. My concern is whether this is a sign something is not right and I should have further tests?

Why is my iron count stable if I have blood loss through menstruation? I don't understand this part and maybe you could explain it for me.
