I have been off depo for two weeks and have begun to expierence some moodiness and depression with in the last couple of days. I have been trying to do some research, but there isn't much at all that I can find on any side effects after getting off depo, expessialy having to do with depression, wondering if anyone else has had same or similar expeirence, just looking for some common ground.

It's common. Many women find that it takes several months to start feeling "normal" after using Depo Provera.

Hi,

I had the same thing. Crying one moment and happy the next after depo started to wear off. I have been off now for 3 months and I still feel a bit moody but not as bad as earlier. I sugesst taking a good multi-vitiam, drink pently of water and get a lot of sleep. That should help your body get better adjusted to the new changes in hormones. Good luck and let us know on how things go for u.

Yeah... the mood swings was something that I experienced too. I am also about two weeks off of depo. I didn't know about the multi-vitamin, but I switched to the ring and started to get some low dose estrogen. The water is a good idea. I know what you are going through because not only was it the moods, my body was literally going through these weird changes. Good news, I dropped a lot of water weight. More good news, I am feeling better.

uhg, several months. i don't think my bf or i can take that. the depression seems to have subsided and the mood swings have taken over, i'm all over the map and it seems to have a lot to do with whether i feel like my bf is paying enough attnetion to me or not. i have been drinking lots of water, and excercising, always sleep a lot :) i havent noticed any physical changes, but now i'll be watching for them. i'm really happy to know this is common, thanks for the advice!
