I have had implants now for 5 years. I am a C now. I wasn't wanting to be a stipper or Dolly Parton, I just wanted to look "normal". I was very flat chested, I had no breast tissue at all and to top it off my breast plate is flipped, so I had a sunken chest. Now, it makes for great cleavage.
I have had no problems at all with my implants. They look wonderful and I feel like a different person. I gained confidence that I never had before.
Psychologically however, getting the implants has messed with my head!! I had nightmares for well over a year that one of them had popped. I now had full blown anxiety attacks. Suddenly I will feel like one breast is slightly bigger than the other and I get freaked out that one of them is going to pop. I run to the bathroom at work and lock myself in the handicap stall, take off my bra and stare at my breasts to see if anything looks different.
The knowledge that I have bags of salt water shoved under my muscles to give the impression of bags of fat hanging off my body really causes me emotional distress.
I love the way I look. And I really have had no physical problems with my implants at all, but if one day they do pop or when my expiration date arrives, I won't be replacing them.
As a teenager and a young adult not having breasts was a tragedy! Now at 27 I realize that myself value should not be weighed by what the Media tells me is beautiful. The person that I am has so much more value than my breast size.

Wow, I love mine! I was a full C to start with, but I had them bumped up to a full D. I went over the muscle and had no pain at all. I have had no problems physically OR emotionally and when the time comes, I'll definitely get mine replaced. I love having full, beautiful breasts! :)

I got under the muscle implants that took me from an A to a C, and it's the absolute best thing I've ever done for myself physically. I spent years being unhappy with the way I looked, plus the fact that I couldn't wear certain clothes and lingerie, not to mention swimsuits. I had my surgery 8 months ago, and have had no problems....my surgery and recovery were very uneventful. Sure, there's some pain and discomfort involved, but it was well worth the end result. I'd do it all over again, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. :round:

What do you mean by: When the time is up, or when they expire?
I thought that breast implants didn't expire!!
Do you have to replace them??!!
Please let us know......
Thanks

I have saline. A lot of women still get silicone and swear by it. I think you get more projection w/ saline, and I like the idea that if I were to rupture one, my body would absorb the saline naturally. You DO have to replace implants, they tell you they will last anywhere from 10-20 years and then they need replaced.

Why do they need replaced?? Do they go dry or does something happen to them? Maybe get stuck or what?
Do most people get them replaced? What is the average replacement 10, 15, 20 years?
Please answer...
Thanks

I'm not sure why, that's just what they tell you. It averages around 15 years, they say just be prepared to have another surgery w/in 10-20 years.

They last seven years. Often within ten years they're just jellyfish-like bags of leaking goo. Besides they NEVER look real. I can spot implants from a mile away. I applaude the woman who isn't going to get them again. Small breasts are beautiful, and no foreign objects in your body. Good for you!

stilljustagirl,
Yes small breasts are beautiful and it is good not to have implants also. Then there are the woman that have breast implants that are effected emotionally. We can't just pull them out of our bras like padding. We have to deal with them. I just thought I would let you know what some of us may be going through. I do appreciate your comments. It just reminds me of how devastated I still feel about my implants. Thank You

They don't turn into goo after seven years. Maybe in rare and specific cases. I think implants look great, to each his/her own.

You think implants look great? I think they look like someone shoved two cantalopes inside the chest. I think it looks clown-like and silly. You're right, to each his own.

Mine don't look like two cantaloupes inside my chest...in fact, they look and feel so real, even I have trouble believing they're implants. To each his own, I guess! :)

Hello,
I am so sorry your impants have cause you such trama, I would not wish that on anyone! :(
I have only had my 11 days but I am really happy with them, I am still in a lot of pain, but it will be worth it!!! They dont look like something shoved in to my body, or stuck on my cheast, I think it really depends on your doctor and your body....I check out 10 doctors before I was sure who I went with, I keep wanted to look in the mirror to see them! :) I know it is weird to have something that is not "you" in your body, and it is hard to believe now you have boobies, it is almost to real!
I hope you end up loving them....
Good luck!
