I am new to the board - I have been diagnosed with TMJ capsulitis (left TM joint) caused by a dentist keeping my mouth open too long - I have pain in that joint, headaches (in my left temple), burning in that joint & into my mouth, and my bite is way off affecting my speech. I went to a specialist who made me a splint that I did wear 24x7 and was told to eat soft food, and use ice packs. This did help but my bite is still way off - & I still have headaches. Does anyone else have this problem? What has been your solution and does it ever completely "go away?" I have also been having painful spasms in the muscles in my right TMJ area - I have a fear of going back to a dentist.

Its probably the muscle spasms changing your bite. Don't be afraid of going back to the dentist, he needs to know whats going on. I go once a week right now just to check the bite and progress on my symptoms.
