Hi
What exaclty are Glycolic Acid peels, are they to remove acne that wont go away or are they for the red marks left over from it.
I have heared so much about them but it doesnt really explain what the are for really, i did a search on internet but it was just selling them and didnt explain.
How many do you have to have to get rid of the scars/acne?
By how much does your skin improve?
Does it hurt?
What happens when you put it on your skin? burn/sting
what happens after it to your skin? does it peel? badly?
what is it, a gel, cream?????
sorry i am so confused about this, i need something though that will get rid of my marks!!!
Do they do this at the dermatologists place, or do they only have them for home use?
:confusd: very confused.........

chicklet-- I've been doing them for 10 yrs-- I'm 52, w/ beautiful skin. Start with a low percent alpha- or glycolic- acid cream for after cleansing. Do that for several months. Then you can progress to peels, starting at maybe 20%. It's not really a "peel," you cleanse, then apply a watery solution with a special brush, forehead to chin, while timing it. Usually start w/ 1 minute, then next week 2... up to maybe 4-5 minutes. You stop it by dabbing cold water on, again top to bottom. Then a mild moisturizer. The kit I use now is 30%, comes with very complete instructions, and lasts about 50 peels for $50. Its used once a week. You can progress up in percentage, but then you start with 1 minute again. It increases the turnover rate of your skin, back to like when you're 21, so it glows. You can do these "lunchtime peels" at a dermatologist for $100, or do it like this. Theres nothin' to it! Oh-- and you don't really peel. You may get some patchy dryness at first-- its OK, just old layers coming off. Arlene
