Holly,
Welcome. Yes, what you are describing is withdrawal type addiction symptoms pure and simple. This is what we all struggle with when we quit. There are many of us here to help you out in any way we can, as you will see. Perhaps if you read some of the past posts for a wile you may get some good ideas from others who have quit that might work for you too. Anyway, we are here to help so write as often as you need.
Good Luck

HI Holly,
It does sound like you are addicted. If you have been smoking for that long, you must be. If your relationship with your parents is strained, be up-front with them. Let them know that you really want to quit. Tell them what happens to you when you try. They can support you and get help. There are alot of things on the market now that can aid in your quit but since you are under-age, you will need help. It might be a good idea to see your doctor. Just be honest with your parents, I'm sure they'll appreciate that and will want to give you the support you need. Please stop now Holly, and save your body. The longer you smoke, the harder it will be to quit.

I started smoking at 15....................JUST TO BE COOL!!! Made me sicker than a dog.....when i first started! Kept doing it.....became addicted and i smoked 18 yrs and just quit 4 months ago! I have to say, it wasnt easy!!!! I deal every day with this......BUT.......i feel soooooo much better....dont smell, no cough, have energy, awesome workouts, skin and hair look better. There are so many positives!!!!!! Smoking was starting to run me down! It's amazing how quick you can become addicted. I started with buying 1 and 2 at a time! Soon after a pack. I was up to a pack in a half a day! When you are a teenager..you dont think ahead about the damage you can do.....so this is wonderful that you are thinking about this! Believe me....when you hit your 30's, the damage you have done can really show!!! And 40's i cant even imagine. I am 33, and i actually still look young-----but----i do have damage to my face from smoking. Put it this way.....GUARANTEED......by the time i am 40-45, i will need to have botox, or some kind of treatment....UNLESS....if i continue to be a non smoker, the "smoker lines" will fade a little. Good Luck to you.....This is wonderful you are thinking about this now, as a teenager....it takes strength, and it sounds like you have it!!
