Has anyone been addicted to this medication? I've heard it is wonderful, and really helps with ADD. My doc probably wont perscribe this for me, i am a recovering addict/alcoholic! Maybe, there is something else out there for me. I hope................

Yes, the stimulants have addiction potential. Technically, they are not supposed to be prescribed for anyone with an "addictive personality".
You might also find that they make your bipolar mania worse.
Strattera is a new, nonstimulant medication for ADD. Some people have had success with it; many haven't. Again, though, it might aggravate your BPD.

Hi -
I have been taking adderall for about 4 and a half years now. Adderall has helped me so much over the years. I went from a... c,d student to a's and b's and now am about to enter my junior year of college. I have never had many problems with adderall other than sleeping difficulties. But lately I have been experiencing this on and off cycle for a few days at a time where i feel really weird. It is had to describe but i feel like out of it, not very alert to whats around me and kinda paraniod i guess. I dont like being around people when i feel this way because i cant pay attention well and when i try to talk in conversations my words get all disheveled. Is this normal???????

No, Bailey, it's not normal and it could very well be the Adderall. Better talk to your doctor about it!
