Hello everyone
Just curious when a kid gets chicken pox do you take them to the doctor or is it something you just let take it's course?
She;s not even itchy or scratching which is odd but they are deffinetley chicken pox:)
Is there anything I need to be careful or watch?
Thank ya kindly,

I have taken them in even though i know what it is because im hoping there is a cream i could use to help soothe them. My son who is 11 now had Chicken Pox when he was 2, didn;t bother him that much....

My 2nd child Anna is 4 and hasn't gotten it yet and i also have a newborn who turned 6 weeks today!!!!!!

Really they probably prefer that you don't bring them in because its contagious, unless of course there seem to be other problems. Just give lots of oatmeal baths and put calamine lotion on the leisons. You might want to call the doctor if she gets uncomfortable and see if you can give benedryl.

I was told to give an anti histamine type of drug (after mine had recovered I might add) like piriton to help calm down the itching. Don't know if this works but thought I would let you know.

Watch out for shingles, my 9 year old got it 6 years after chicken pox, they are very painful and the rash will appear on one half of their body, usually the torso. I think any one who has had chicken pox can get shingles but it not common in children.
