Coryn0921 06-28-2005, 02:50 PM is Blood filtering/Transfusions a normal treatment in people with Aids? last1 06-28-2005, 06:58 PM Blood transfusion are normal for people who are anemic which may occur in people who are HIV+. Typically, I have not heard of it as a "treatment" for the disease (HIV/AIDS) but to treat a possible symptom related to the disease. However, and this is really important, anemia is not a condition of HIV but can be symptomic of other illnesses as well. Many years ago, they were actually "boiling blood" in Italy. They would put an HIV+ person on a heart/lung machine, filter the blood through this process which increased the temperature and then re-infussed it. Oh, it didn't work. You see,HIV can hide in other places than in blood, lymph symstem for example, being the sneaky devil that it is. chris |
