My 6 year son is in constant pain. He has complained of stomach pain consistently for the past year. The surgeon checked him for a hernia but found nothing through the ultrasound. He has been diagnosed with chronic constipation for which he takes 17 grams of Miralax daily. He is getting no better. Now he is having very thin ribbon-like stools with great pain. He almost never feels "empty" he says. He complains of sharp anal pain even when he is not having movements. He is now afraid to defecate at all. He often wishes not to eat. I do not know where to go. All doctors dismiss this as "stress" or a stomach virus. They say they see nor feel anything but we know that there is something very wrong. I believe that whatever it is is getting worse and the pain has become more severe.
Please offer any comments, suggestions or feedback. I sincerely appreciate your responses as does my 6 year old son Zachary!
