I just posted on another thread. I have had two reconstructive surgeries with Dr. Codner this past year and have been happy with the results. He is a perfectionist and very careful about complications. So far I am pleased with the results although I wouldn't mind a doctor who was a bit warmer and fuzzier.

Actually, I had a double prophylactic mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Dr. Codner did an untraditional surgery at my request. I asked him to do a skin sparing breast reduction type mastectomy with immediate permanent expanders and free nipple grafts. I wanted to look like I had a really great breast reduction rather than a mastectomy with reconstruction and I wanted to keep my own nipples.

So basically, he had to make his best guess as to the size and shape my breast pockets should be since I was going from a DD to a C cup and center the nipple grafts in his his best guess of where they would end up when expansion was over. This was all done in an attempt to give me a shot at doing this all in one surgery.

The results were amazing. I got really close to not needing a second surgery. The implants were not quite wide enough for my frame (my fault since I talked him into the smaller size) and the right one was just a hair to low and rubbed on my rib cage. So recently I had the implants exchanged for the wider ones, had the scars revised and the sides liposuctioned for a better contour.

This was probably way more than you wanted to know but my main point was that he was able to take my desires and put them together to offer me what I wanted even though it is far from the norm. The results are not perfect (reconstructed breasts never are) but they are pretty good. If I had a 20 year old body to go with my 20 year old breasts, it might look a whole lot more natural!<G>
