I just had my first review with my manager. He said I need improvement on my communication skills. Being unable to express myself effectively has always been a problem for me. How do I get around it? He suggested I attend some public speaking classes....little does he know that it wont help me cause I have ADHD, which he doesnt know.
Is it wise to let your employer know of your ADHD??

The problem with communication with ADD people is usually that they can't listen or let the other person finishe their sentence. I'm not sure it is the case with you however since you talked about public speaking. I find that I try to listen to people and shake my head sometimes I don't know what they're talking about but at least I'm not interupting them. Try to stop yourself and pay attention to other people even if you're not really doing it. Everybody wants to be listened to, if you listen they think you're great at conversation. I'm not sure it's the case with you but give it a try. Everybody has strengths and weakness, you're might just have something to do with ADD. I wouldn't tell your employer of ADD, but that's just my opinion.

At my last doctor appointmement he asked me if was still interupting people at work. Of course I said yes. He suggested I take a business communacation course at the local junior college. Haven't done it yet but it makes sence. Maybe ask your doc if such a class could help. Good Luck.

There's a link on the next page called speech-adhd. It sounds like you could relate to that link.
