Hi,
I've been on and off the pill for about 10 years now and feel like my body need a break. I do not want to get pregnant so I'm looking for a good alternative. What brand of spermicides do you recommend, are their any side effects? Or do you have any other suggestions??

Hi there,
I recently started on the pill for my first time. But before that, i (actually my partner) was using condoms. The worked great, it was cool, clean fun. You dont have to worry about the mess that oozes out of you after intercource. Gross. But it is best if you use both condom and spermicide. As for suggestions on the brand of spermicides, i dont have any, sorry. But if i were to choose one, i'd get the conctraceptive film.
Good luck!

Ciao,
:)

I don't think the brand matters but there are no side effects except you will get a lot of leakage when it starts to desolve. But the down side to them is they work best when you put them in about half hour before. You can put them in after or right before but they are not as effective that way. So, the in the heat of moments are kind of scarey.

Whether you decide to use barriers/spermicide with it or not, I think fertility awareness is a good option. It will really up the effectiveness. Of course it does involve some abstaining to increase the effectiveness of barriers.

Hi, as for spermacides i have a note about nonoxyl-9, it is said to cause irritation in some ppl with repeated usage. If you find this to be the problem there are other spermicides that do not use nonoxyl-9 as the active ingredient. Just read the label it should say.

Try VCF, they are about $4.99 for three in drugstores.
