View Full Version : Tell Dentist?

hi A friend without a pc asked me to post this question:
Can a (positive) person choose NOT to tell Dentist of her + status?
This new Dentist is closer and accepts her union plan but is close to her home and is concerned about possible neighbors finding out. (i guess you just never know who works nearby). She knows she should but does she have to-- since they are supposed to take precautions with all patients anyway. Thanks.

Her nieghboors shouldnt find out due to privacy acts and whatnot. If they did, she could sue the pants off that dentist. Anyhow, i think it's important to tell healthcare providers, not only so they can take necesarry precautions, but so they can keep the HIV+ person safe as well. Sometimes infections and whatnot can popup during dental work, and if a dentist isnt informed, im sure it can be very dangerous.
