I know that I've posted on this board before about my thoughts that I have HIV. Now this may sound gross but when I was showering this morning I noticed my nipple hurt and so afterwards I looked to find an open sore type thing right under my nipple on my right breast. My first thought was an infected pimple but I was wondering how in the hell one would get there. My mind started racing and now I'm thinking it is Kaposi's Sarcoma. I've looked at the images online and while it looks nothing like it, I can't help but think it is. I have a question for anyone familiar with this rare type of malignant cancer. Do the lesions come in groups? I know they can be purple and grape-like, but do they open or pus? How long to they take to go away and how far does HIV have to progress for you to develop this? I'm very scared and tried to get an appointment to see my regular doctor today or tommarow but she was completely booked! I can't go to the E.R. I have no health insurance. Please someone tell me if I'm being paranoid or if it's not K.S., then what the hell could it be?????

When I was worried I had HIV, I had a huge painful lump on my buttocks. It ended up being a cyst which I took antibiotics for. KS leisions don't usually show up until the T-Cell count is well below 400, which is technically AIDS. So unless you've been infected long enough to have your tcell drop to 400, then you most likely dont have KS, although it does sometimes show up in non HIV patients. Also, if your tcell was below 400, you'd probably have other AIDS related complications as well, such as PCP (a type of pneumonia) or other things. It's probably a pimple or something, but since your on high alert, stress will turn it into soemthing worse. Good luck

From what ive read KS lesions are more like moles, the can grow larger over a period of a couple of months, and are rarely painful, the only appear in the final stages of Hiv infection which is AIDS.

Thanks you guys for your replys. Embaressing as it is, it probably is just a pimple. I've had more of them on my body since I've had my son. The coloration of it seems a little different than a pimple probably because it's on my nipple! I did think that KS usually only happened in the late stages of HIV. I just noticed this yesturday because it DID hurt while I was showering, but it's already started to heal. My sweat glands have just become a lot more clogged it seems after I had my son. Hormonal changes maybe?? I also just started inspecting the back of my throat with a flashlight last night and my son was watching me do it like I was really weird. I don't blame him. What I had looks nothing like a mole, it looks a lot like either a pimple or an ingrown hair, it may just look different on that sensitive area.
