juice74 06-30-2005, 12:02 AM  just wondering how long everyone is going to have to wear their lovely black walking boot after bunion surgery? Thanks in advance Sponsor feetfirst 06-30-2005, 06:02 AM I had to wear mine for 6 weeks... ugghhh, I am on foot # 2 (had 2nd surgery after first foot reached 7 weeks) and have been wearing this black shoe for 3 months now... tomorrow is my last day! rollargirl 06-30-2005, 12:15 PM I was suppose to wear mine for 4 weeks and ended up in it for 8. After eight weeks the boot was bothering my knee so I am in a surgical shoe for 5 weeks then we will see if that's it. The boot was good because my foot was better supported and ached less than in the shoe. Also I wore a cast for 4 weeks before the boot. Linda juice74 06-30-2005, 05:43 PM i will find out friday (7-1) how long it might be  juice74 07-01-2005, 02:57 PM hello I went to doc today got stiches out and got told that it was ok to put all my weight on my foot now (2 weeks post op) we will have to see how that goes he said to start by walking with my crutches and then eventuly ditch them all together (o i can't wait for that day) he said that i will be in this boot at least until the end of the July and then if all is well i will move back into my ugly blue surgical shoe so we will see have a happy 4th of july feetfirst 07-01-2005, 05:58 PM Oh happy Day!! I went to the doctor's for my 6 week post op on foot #2 (1st foot was immediately prior - 7 weeks) and I am OUT OF THE BLACK SHOE!!! :bouncing: :bouncing: I actually brought my sneaker with me, and changed in the car and went to a couple stores to shop!! How fun it was - to be on 2 flat feet! I cannot really walk all that great yet, and kinda "shuffle" along, because my foot is still sore and tender. 1 st foot is much better, but does still hurt in the joint area. I plan on working this foot good with so aggressive walking (as much as I can stand) because the doctor said the more I work it - the better. rollargirl 07-02-2005, 11:43 AM Juice74 & Feetfirst--Great news and good progress for both of you! Happy 4th to both of you. Linda |
