Is it normal for the back of your throat to look red if it is sore? How big of a symptom is a sore throat in HIV? God, I need to get over this

-Honey, I think that the best thing for you to do is go and get tested.

not always .....
I am constantly looking for info on sore throats. My 76 yr old mom has had a chronic sore throat for 5 yrs.
Dr after Dr ..tests after tests...mri , throat culture, antibiotics, medicine after medicine ...nothing works and she is MISERABLE.

Even on this Health board "Sorethroats " are hard to find. Especially chronic.

And ps she even quit smoking last feb!

No, I did say "sometimes" not "always." If you are concerned as you seem, then you probably should be tested and reduce your anxiety.

Hey scaredmom! I haven't written in awhile because my computer has been shut down. I've got to tell you that you do need to get over this. You are fine! You're mind is playing tricks on you big time. Life is too short, you can't keep living like this. You know, after I last wrote to you, my mind started doing it again. I started looking in the mirror at my tongue again, questioning "what if?". I've been driving myself mad all over again. I went to the doctor about this, she put me on Paxil. Even talking to the doctor has calmed me down. I've posted on the mental health board because I think there may be something else going on. My fears about my health have gotten out of controle. Every single reply I get says OCD. My mind goes in circles over and over about this and I can't controle it. Even though I don't have compulsions, I was told I could have just the obsessions. It does make sense to me. Maybe you should look into that a bit. You need to see the doctor about this anyway. You're doctor is not going to think you're crazy, that's what they are here for. If I was your mother, I would yank you into the car and make you go. Get better!
