I thought I was done being scared that I had HIV, I was tested negative at 3 and 6 months and I finally got over it and now about 3 days ago I got a sore throat, swollen glands, my nose is stuffed up, and in the back right corner of my tongue are little WHITE tastebuds. I am scared to death and feel like crying. I don't know what to do. Apparently it can be from dehydration and while I haven't been getting 8 cups of water a day or whatever they recommend, I average about 4...I am so freaked out. Please, anyone, could you give me some support or say you've have the bumps on the tongue but not HIV. I am so desperate and scared again.
Hi, after looking up HIV symptoms i noticed i had white spots on my tongue. I asked my doctor if they could be HIV related and he said no. I'm sure everyone gets these. Are you a smoker as this could contribute.

I have smoked about 2 cigarettes in my entire life and that was about 2 years ago. I have also not had any alcohol in the past year and have never drank more than maybe 6 beers in my entire life.

Have you had any encounters recently? If not, then you have nothing to worry about, your test is conclusive!! Anyhow, even if you were positive, you wouldn't be experiencing thrush quite so soon generally (it sounds like thats what you're "diagnosing" or finding).

I haven't had any sexual encounters since my last test. So, Septemeber 2004. The only thing I am very slightly worried about is it wasn't EXACTLY 6 months, it was like 5 months and 27 days. I thought that was close enough to 6 months. Blaahhhh I don't want to be neurotic again but I am still scared.

You do NOT have HIV. 3 months post exposure is considered conclusive and 5 months and 27 days is pretty darned close to 6 months post exposure. :)

I promise you are fine, your results are conclusive and six months as a rule is only for those who have compromised immune systems from IV use or major organ transplant, but what your experiencing anyway is nothing! Stay safe and shut the door on this x
