Ok--I had my first UTI and yeast infection--together about a month and a half ago. Went to doc inagony--dx both of them. Went on abx and diflucan. Got better. Came back as soon as abx were done. Rx'ed more of the same, different abx this time. Got better, came back AGAIN!!
Went in today to doc and had UTI and yeast infection again! Given oral diflucal, some cream--can't remember the name, but a Rx, and then abx to use when I'm done as to not complicate the yeast infection again.
Said the UTI was very, very positive for beta strep which is not sexually transmitted. Urine culture confirmed this. I have read some stuff about beta strep, and most of it is nothing except the pregnancy complications. My tubes are tied--no worries. But --this all happened after becoming sexually active again. Almost immediately. What is the deal? I have been tested for everything--clean as far as all std's. So has he--clean. What is up with my body?
The running joke btw me and my frineds is I am allergic to him!LOL But seriously--If this is going to keep up every tme we have sex--I can't live like this!! I asked doc, and she said it had nothing to do with it.
Would this be much more likely to happen if the man you were with was...ahem....large? I mean, couldn't you get like tiny little tears from it and then make it a breeding ground for colonization of things? I am very, very clean about my body. I urinate b4 and after, and clean up even better. He is not dirty at all, and washes his hands b4 too.
Is there anyone who can shed some light on this? Sorry so long!!

First of all do u use a condom? The reason I am asking is it sounds like y'all are passing back to one another...Have him try and use some cream down there for a couple of days and see if that helps...That is the only thing that comes to my mind..Hope it helps,Ralinda

I agree. Men can have a yeast infection with no symptoms and pass it to the women. You should also urinate after having sex to void any bacteria that could've been pushed up there.
